CEC Short Breaks for Disabled Children - Parent Carer Consultation

Purpose of this consultation

Cheshire East Council currently commissions 10 providers to deliver short breaks services for children with disabilities. These providers form an integral part of the overall local offer for children with disabilities within Cheshire East, ensuring that:
  • Parent Carers get a break from their caring responsibilities
  • Children and young people access meaningful support
  • Our statutory duty as a local authority is met.
These contracts are due to expire in August 2020, and we want to gather your views to make sure that these services commissioned by the council reflect what is important to the people who use them. We see short breaks as a valuable resource and we want our residents to access services that meet their needs in the most efficient and cost effective way.

Feedback from the consultation will be used to shape and influence the way these services are delivered in future.
