1. Introduction

Purpose of this consultation

The local Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA) looks at the current provision of pharmaceutical services (includes pharmacies) in Cheshire East to ensure these services meet the needs of the population. A draft PNA has now been published for consultation.

The PNA is a report on all the NHS community pharmacies in the borough and includes those family doctors who are permitted to dispense medicines as a pharmacist would. The NHS will use the PNA to work out if any changes are needed to pharmacy services in Cheshire East.

The assessment to date has involved a resident survey, a pharmacy survey and review of lots of different pharmacy related information. We are now asking for views on the Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment report.
