Cheshire East Council Asset Transfer Policy - Consultation

An updated asset transfer policy

Cheshire East Council first adopted a community asset transfer policy in 2011.

This policy has been reviewed, updated and engaged on, and is now being consulted on, before it is adopted by the council.

The updated asset transfer policy being consulted on can be downloaded here (PDF, 537KB).

Aims of the policy

Cheshire East Council owns a diverse mix of community assets, and in some cases these are rarely used by residents. A transfer of assets potentially means more residents will use them if they are under community management and / or ownership. This policy is designed to enable consistent decision taking by the council, to generate certainty for applicants.
